Despite stormy weather preventing us from meeting in person, our photographic club enjoyed a truly memorable evening thanks to an engaging Zoom presentation by Jane Lazenby.
From the moment Jane began speaking, our members were captivated by her clear, thoughtful explanations and her ability to transform a simple photograph into a beautifully creative image. The session was both insightful and inspiring, offering plenty of ideas and techniques that members are keen to explore in their own work.
Jane’s expertise in editing was evident throughout the presentation, but what really stood out was her passion. Her love of horses and talent for creating imaginative, atmospheric scenes shone through every example she shared. She guided us step by step through her creative process, making even complex techniques feel accessible and achievable. Members listened intently, fully absorbed in her storytelling and visual demonstrations, and many commented on how quickly the time seemed to pass.
Even as the storm raged outside, and with a few members unfortunately experiencing power cuts and dipping in and out of the session, Jane carried on with good humour and professionalism. Those who remained online stayed enthralled until the very end—and were genuinely disappointed when the presentation concluded. It was a wonderful reminder that, even when circumstances keep us apart, shared enthusiasm for photography can still bring us together for an enjoyable and educational evening.
