St Austell Camera Club recently enjoyed an engaging presentation from Dublin-based street photographer Joe Houghton, who joined us via Zoom. Joe shared a fascinating insight into his approach to street photography, discussing how he captures candid moments and the stories that unfold in everyday life.
Members were treated to a selection of his striking images, along with an honest and inspiring look at his creative process. It was an excellent evening, with plenty to take away for photographers of all levels, and we thank Joe for taking the time to share his work with us.
Joe Houghton's street work is mainly part of his long-running “Streets of Dublin” project — a collection of black-and-white images capturing everyday life in Dublin since 2018.
- Focus on candid moments and human interaction
- Often shot in square format

- Emphasis on light, gesture, and timing
His collection includes over 200 street images, many available as prints or in his book.
