I am very sorry to hear that Pentax is about to end the production of their K3 MK3, the last of the now dated digital SLR camera.
Ricoh the parent company behind Pentax have been loyal to their followers and are the last company to manufacture a digital S.L.R.
I will be holding on to mine as it is one of the easiest, and most enjoyable camera to use in my opinion.
The K3 also comes in a mono only version, so I will assume this will go as well. This may be great news for Leica who will be pleased for the possible boost in sales for the M9 mono!
As Pentax has yet to jump onto the mirrorless scene, could it mean the end of an amazing iconic company, I hope not….

Just a thought, at the end of this current season, someone at the camera club will be acquiring a very sought after trophy, this person will have a Pentax to admire and be proud of, I’m referring to the winner of the Steve Bassett trophy of course.
This trophy was made in memory of a dear club member., Steve Bassett. The camera looks great as a trophy and reminds us of a recent past era of photography.
